The new bi-functional LED headlamp is now enclosed in a cover, creating a more compact and unified relationship with the newly-designed fuel tank, which commands a more engaged, slightly forward-leaning riding position while maintaining the sharp and edgy aesthetic that is synonymous with the MT name.

The 889 cc liquid-cooled 3-cylinder produces high-torque out of a lightweight package to produce a powerful yet playful MT that emits a beautiful sound to enhance the feeling of acceleration thanks to its tuned intake and exhaust. The MT-09’s fuel injection system increases efficiency, while optimized gear ratios and its assist-and-slipper clutch match the higher output of the EU5-compliant engine.

Lightweight CF Aluminium Die-cast Frame    
A modern take on the Deltabox layout—featuring a higher level of chassis stiffness for improved rider feedback, stability and an increased dynamic riding window.

Adjustable Suspension    
A fully adjustable 41 mm front fork uses optimized settings that match the character of the compact high-rigidity frame and reduce the tendency to pitch, giving a smoother and more controlled ride. The adjustable rear suspension features new settings as well as a revised linkage to match the all-new, high-rigidity swingarm.

Lightweight SpinForged Wheels

5” TFT full colour screen

An all-new, horizontally mounted 5” TFT full colour screen offers the rider an attractive new interface with the choice of four different themes to suit a range of different riding experiences. 

Smartphone connectivity and navigation

For an enriched riding experience, connectivity comes as standard on the MT-09 via a built-in Communication Control Unit (CCU) meaning riders can stay connected while riding by linking their smartphone with their machine via the free  Y-Connect app.

Intuitive new switchgear

New integrated handlebar switch assemblies enable the rider to operate the wider range of functions of the new MT-09, including smartphone connectivity, navigation and riding modes as well as navigating the further menu options.

Next-generation design and styling    
New-generation design leads the MT family line into the new decade. Minimalist styling showcases the frame and structural components.

Six-axis IMU with full suite of lean sensitive rider aids now including Back Slip Regulator (BSR)

Three integrated riding modes, ‘Sport’, ‘Street’ and ‘Rain’ featuring factory settings with different intervention levels to suit various conditions are complemented by the option to pre-set two Custom modes.

Compact, bifunctional LED headlight    
The new single LED headlight produces a powerful beam with an excellent  spread featuring soft edges while giving the MT-09 a truly distinctive next-generation face, and lateral LED position lights project a signature Y-shape that is matched by the LED taillight.

Quick Shift System (QSS)    
The new up and down Quick Shifter System enhances the sport riding experience by enabling super-fast upshifts for outstanding acceleration. The downshift function allows smoother shifting to maintain chassis stability even when cornering, to give a more controlled feel when decelerating.
